Comprehensive Financial Planning
We take an in-depth and holistic look at your finances. We develop a financial plan and see what adjustments could be most beneficial. We continue to meet regularly over time to address the changes that will inevitably arise and make sure that you remain on track to meet the goals you have for your finances and your life. Ortman Financial Planning may also manage your investment accounts to match your financial plan.
Topics that we cover include:
What is your net worth?
Are you spending and saving in the manner that matches your priorities?
Are you investing in the most tax-efficient way possible and in a manner that matches your risk tolerance?
How should you address your student loans or saving for your children’s college?
Does your life and disability insurance match your needs?
To put it simply, we want to make sure that you are in harmony with the dollars in your life.
Introductory Meeting (30-60 minutes): This is a chance to get acquainted and see if we would be a good fit to work together. We have a high level conversation about your finances but don’t get into any specific details. The meeting is completely free.
Discovery Meeting (60-90 minutes): We gather and review your financial documents and details. We talk about your priorities, goals, concerns, and values in more depth to best plan in accordance with them.
Financial Planning Meeting (60 minutes): We go over a rough draft of your financial plan. We review your net worth and cash flow and address the most pressing topics that are at the top of the priority list.
Financial Plan Presentation (60 minutes): This is our final meeting as part of the introductory process. We provide you with an electronic financial plan as well as a 1-2 page summary of the major points and action items.
Each meeting is typically 2-4 weeks apart so the full introductory process takes about 3 months.
Meet at least twice per year to monitor your plan, address any needed changes or new opportunities, and periodically dive into depth on specific financial topics. OFP may manage your investments in accordance with your risk tolerance to ensure that they meet your objectives and operate in line with your overall financial plan.
